Personal oral hygiene is simply the name given to the practice of cleaning the mouth. It is kind of strange that after all these years, we have figured out that the bacterial load within the mouth may have some bad effect on us. One cannot get rid of the bacteria, as they are a part of our world. However, if one disrupts and disorganizes the bacterial colonies, they lose their ability to do us harm. Proper brushing and flossing can prevent disease. Brushing disrupts the bacteria on the biting surfaces and on the gumline. Flossing disrupts the bacteria between the teeth and below the gumline.
If you are only going to do one or the other, floss.
You need to do both, on a daily basis.
It is a matter of hygiene.

Red Disclosing Tablets are an effective tool to reveal areas of accumulated bacterial plaque.
Using Red Dye #28, the harmful bacterial plaque is stained bright red, to see areas one might have missed, or to show where extra attention is needed.
